Resumen:
In order to achieve a coherent picture of the external world, our nervous system must process information coming from its different sensory modalities. To navigate through the environment, humans mainly use the information from visual and auditory modalities. Previous research points to the influence of vision on the accuracy of auditory localisation <br />judgments (see King 2009, for review) and only a minor number of works have been devoted to the opposite effect (Perrott et al 1990; Vroomen and de Gelder 2000). These works showed that auditory spatial information could also improve the response to a visual target, including angular discrimination, decreased reaction times, and localisation improvement. In this work we study whether auditory cues involved in auditory perception of the size of a room (reverberation) influences the Visual Distance Perception (VDP).
