Resumen:
During the last decade, Latin America has experienced a process ofsignificant improvement in the labour market. However, these countries stillsuffer from remarkable deficits in their labour markets and in their generationand distribution of income. In addition to informality, non-standard forms ofemployment affect a large number of wage-earners. This paper analyses three ofsuch kind of employment: part-time, temporary and triangular employment. Theanalysis is carried out for Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador and Peru. Weestimate its incidence in total wage-earners and in different subgroups ofworkers, we analyse its evolution during the last decade and we assess theextent to which these non-standard forms of employment are a source of wagegaps and precarious labour conditions.
