Resumen:
Using Gemini+GMOS imagery obtained through the filters i, z andCaT, we developed a technique for estimating the value of the CaII triplet (CaT) equivalent width (EW). The map generated througharithmetic operations with the near infrared images was calibratedwith long slit spectra obtained with REOSC spectrograph at CASLEO.We apply this technique to the study of M 83 central region andpresent the preliminary results on the spatial distribution of theEW(CaT) within an area of 40 per 40 square arcsec around the double nucleus of M 83, with a spatial resolution of 0.8 arcsec.
