Hydromorphic paleosols in the contact Puesto La Paloma-Cerro Castaño Members, Cerro Barcino Formation, mid Cretaceous, Patagonia Argentina: environmental and stratigraphic significance

A series of stacked hydromorphic paleosols have been recognized in the upper part of the Puesto La Paloma Member and the lower part of the Cerro Castaño Member (Cerro Barcino Formation). Featuyres recognized in them suggest that gleying was the main pedogenic process and calcification as a subordinate one. Geochemical poxies indicate MAOP values around 7-9 C degrees and MAP values of 200-700 mm/year.
