Resumen:
Endometriosis is a disease characterized by the presence ofendometrial-like tissue outside the uterine cavity. Current medicaltherapies available for the treatment of endometriosis have adverseeffects that limit their long-term use. The objective of our studywas to evaluate the effect of Wogonin (WG), an active constituentof Chinese Herbal Medicine, and two of the main antioxidantcompounds found in rosemary extract: Carnosic Acid (CA) andRosmarinic Acid (RA) in vitro and in vivo, in experimentalendometriosis. Cell proliferation was evaluated by MTS assay inendometrial cell cultures. In addition, endometriosis-induced micereceived daily WG intragastrically from post-surgical day (psd) 14and continued until day 26. CA or RA was administeredintraperitoneally daily from psd 14 to 28. WG 40, 80 and 160 µM;CA 10, 12.5 and 25 µg/ml and RA 25, 50 and 100 µg/mlsignificantly inhibited cell proliferation in T-HESC cell line and inhuman endometrial stromal primary cultures (p
