Resumen:
In this report we introduce a method to generate accurate but
simple wave functions for two-electron ions.
The functions are written in terms of exponential and power
series, having accuracies and Hylleraas-like forms similar
to those currently used in collisional problems but with the
correct coalescence cusp conditions.
The accuracy of the calculated energies is about 1.410-4 a.u.
We also present approximate analytic expressions for the wave
function and energies which are valid for a wide range of
two-electron ions in the isoelectronic sequence with Z
starting from Z=1.
