Resumen:
One of the possible processes that could intervene in the pathogenesis of the early embryonic death in the bovine tritricomonosis is the change in the surface carbohydrates of the uterine epithelium. Previous works demonstrated that exist modifications in the pattern of lectins binding of different genital organs of bovine infected with T. foetus, and that the same ones depend on the time of infection. The difficulty to carry out a continuous study along several weeks in bovine, took us to work with a mouse model, broadly proven in our laboratory. We used female BALB/c in estrous that were inoculated for via intravaginal with T. foetus and sacrificed along 6 weeks. The uteri were imbedded in paraffin and they were carried out courts for their incubation with the following byotinilated lectins: SBA, Con-A, UEA-I, PNA, RCA-I, DBA and WGA.  The most remarkable changes were the increment of the SBA binding observed after 19 days of infection and the reduction of PNA binding 18 days posinfection.  The modifications include as much to the glycocalix as to the cytoplasm apical of the superficial epithelium and of the uterine glands. The changes occur later to the colonization of the uterus for the protozoa that it happens in the day 10 posinfection. Taking with account these lectin binding modifications, the monosaccharides that change their uterine concentration in T. foetus infection would be galactoses and galactoses amina. The alterations in the carbohydrates could be consequence of the reaction of the organism or of the effect of enzymes taken place by T. foetus.
