Resumen:
Copper (Cu) and iron (Fe) toxicities are associated to the etiology of neurodegenerative diseases. The mechanisms currently considered are a Haber-Weiss reaction and a depletion of reduced glutathione (GSH) and protein SH groups. Objective: to compare oxidative damage (OD) and time course of OD induced by Cu and Fe in rat brain; to correlate OD with redox status (Pearson´s factor, r, p:8mg/kg); decreased 62% CO (D50%:5mg/kg,ti=tm 16h),
