Resumen:
We numerically study stationary arrays of vortices in nonrotating toroidalBose-Einstein condensates. We consider condensates confined by an harmonicplus Gaussian potential, as those used in a recent experiment[1], and employa simple phase-imprinting method[2] to numerically generate the vortices.  Weanalyze the arrangement of vortices for different number of particles and trapgeometries, and obtain the largest vorticity that each system can sustain.  Weinterpret these results in terms of the velocity fields produced by thevortices and by the spatial inhomogeneity of the condensate.
