Resumen:
We numerically study stationary arrays of vortices in nonrotating three dimensional Bose- Einstein condensates. We consider condensates confined by a harmonic plus Gaussian potential, as used in a recent experiment, and employ a simple phase- imprintingmethod to numerically generate the vortices. We analyze the arrangement of vortices for different number of particles and trap geometries, and obtain the largest vorticity that each system can sustain. We interpret these results in terms of the velocity fieldsproduced by the vortices and the spatial inhomogeneity of the  condensate.
