Resumen:
The Shergotty SNC achondrite is believed to originate from Mars. It consists mainly of pyroxenes (augite and pigeonite) and maskelynite with minor ( 2 % ) ilmenite and titanomagnetite. It also contains dense varieties of SiO2. Nevertheless, there is no agreement on the p-T conditions of neither these phases nor the rock itself. Here we report on our preliminary results of a Mossbauer study of the Shergotty pyroxenes to constrain these conditions.
