Resumen:
Precolumbian San Luis is the first exhibition of the Virtual Anthropological Museum (MAV) of the Instituto de Formación Docente Continua San Luis (IFDC-SL). This exhibition aims at showing the way of life of the original inhabitants from the central hills of Argentina between the seventh century BC and the fifteenth century AD. The exposition makes use of the artistic reconstruction of scenes from everyday life in prehistory; here different items about which photographic and specific information is available can be clicked. Most archaeological remains correspond to excavations carried out in the fifties at Intihuasi Cave by an archaeological expedition directed by Alberto Rex González, from La Plata Museum. Images of objects corresponding to other collections (proceeding from museums and private persons), as well as panels of rupestrean art are also included. Apart from attempting to make known the prehistoric past of San Luis and contributing to the development of a conscience of archaeological preservation, it is expected that the exhibition may become a learning device within the provincial educational system. The pedagogical possibilities of the exposition are analysed, against the particular social and technological background of an underdeveloped country undergoing the most serious economic crisis of its history.
