Resumen:
Mechanical behavior of polyurethane (PUR) cellular foams under multiaxial stress conditions was investigated. Two types of PUR were studied. Mechanical testing under different states of stresses including uniaxial tensile, uniaxial compression and biaxial compression, was conducted quasi statically at room temperature. Strains were measured with the help of a videoextensometer. True stress-strain curves along the in-plane and through-the thickness directions were then obtained. Foams showed quite different stress-strain behavior in tension and compression. Also materials exhibited orthotropic behavior.
