Resumen:
The objectives of this study is to characterize the different sectors that were determined within a same plot far as the water availability and its dynamics; and to analyze the relation between the water availability and the supply of N. The specific case study is for site-specific nitrogen application to corn production in the semiarid region of Argentina. An on-farm trial was conducted in 2004/05 in Manfredi, Córdoba, Argentina. Management zones where determined based upon previous yield maps and digital elevation maps. The experimental design for the trial was a complete block strip trial that included three different Management zones. The hidryc content of the ground until 2 m was determined during the cycle of the crop. The field was planted in October 2004 and harvested in May 2005 with a combine equipped with a yield monitor. Results suggest that the dynamics of the water demonstrates differentials patterns between management zones; the application of N increase the EUA within each zone, perhaps because the combine effect of the leaf enlargement and the larger photosynthetic capacity of the crop; and the application of N  and major water availability also to helped an increase of the root system development causing greater net water consumptions in deep of the profile
