Resumen:
Th ere is strong evidence of the presence
of gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH)
and its receptor (GnRHR) in the gonads of
various vertebrate species. Th e expression of
GnRH and its receptor in the sexual organs
has been demonstrated in fi sh, amphibians,
birds and mammals. From these autocrine
and paracrine neuropeptide signaling
regulate development and gonadal function,
including steroidogenesis, spermatogenesis
and folliculogenesis. Knowledge of these
events gonadal endocrine regulation during
development of birds is rare and has only been
described embryonic processes steroidogenesis
in Gallus gallus domesticus and Coturnix
coturnix. Th erefore the aim of this work is to
characterize the GnRH receptor expression in
embryonic testes and ovaries and post-natal
Columba livia to provide information about
the process of steroidogenesis in birds. For
this revealed in histological preparations testis
and ovary expression GnRH in corresponding
to embryos stages 41, 43 and neonates 2, 5, 7
and 75 days post-hatch, using an anti GnRHR
PABX (1 mg / ml) at a working dilution of 1:
800 incubated for 60 min. at 37; and revealed
using the indirect protocol "L-streptavidin
biotin". Samples of blood corresponding to
these stages were obtained prior to euthanasia
and immediately centrifuged at 1500 RPM for
5 minutes to isolate the serum, which was kept
in freezer - 4°C until use. From the results it
was observed that in stadiums analyzed, GnRH
receptor revealed immunodetection the presence
of specifi c labeling in the plasma membrane
and in the peri nuclear area of the the germline
cells of ovary in stages pre -eclosión and testicles
juveniles. Future analysis will focus on correlating
these results with the hormone levels in plasma
from techniques Radioimmunoassay (RIA).
