Resumen:
Cain and Abel by Ambrose of Milan is a treatise composed in 377 that shows how Christian literature composes a natural, moral and social knowledge about men and life, whose representation is often configured through poetic expressions in a way that the interpretative reason and the symbolic imagination coexist in the text. In this paper we will analyze the scopes of shepherd metaphor in Cain and Abel VI, 24. This section of the work places the bishop reflection in a level of meanings that surpasses the strictly philosophical o theological approach and constructs the semantic field of common benefit because it helps to locate some images of individual and social human dignity in the frame of divine plan.
