Bovine mastitis (BM) is an infectius disease with a strong economic impact in dairy farming. S. aureus is the most commonly agent assiciated to this disease. The objetive of this study was to investigate the efficiency of of an avirulent S. aureus vaccine under field conditions. Preliminary results shows that isolation of S. aureus in milk was significantly lower in vaccinated group (OR=0.31; CI95% 0.14-0.66) in comparision to non-vaccinated group (OR=0.29 CI95% 0.02-2.50).
