Resumen:
The uncontrolled connection of a large number of electric vehicles can severely affect the operative state of the electric distribution network. These vehicles have the capacity to consume, store and supply energy. In this context, it is fundamental to develop algorithms and calculate tools, to dispatch the requirements of the vehicles in an economical and controlled manner. To facilitate this functionality, systems that interact between electric vehicles and operators of distribution control centers are required. An alternative is to use the concept of "aggregators". In this sense, this paper describes the characteristics and functionality of aggregators. Further, it proposes a hierarchical control structure and analyses the role of aggregators in distribution network economic dispatch considering the integration of a large number of vehicles.
