Resumen:
RESEARCH We are currently studying the molecular mechanisms underlying stem cells and early differentiation. Our main goal is to understand how TGFbeta through SMADs proteins regulates genes that are potentially critical for self-renewal property and cell behavior. The experimental strategies in the lab include: Gene expression analysis and Bioinformatics. Stable gene transfer in cell culture systems and gene silencing with viral vectors. The understanding of how cell plasticity is regulated will have a large impact on developmental biology studies, pathologies and regenerative medicine. Rohr C, et al.
