Resumen:
Several studies show the relationship between well-being indicators and values, highlighting that it is partially determined by personal and values that prevail in social environment (Sagiv & Schwartz, 2000; Sagiv et al., 2006; Lima & Novo, 2006; Basabe et al., 2002; Paéz & Zubieta, 2004). Such studies are oriented to subjective well-being while a lack of researches focused on social well-being dimensions is detected. Meanwhile, studies on emotional climate prove its relationship with social well-being and values and political confidence appear as one of its principal components. Current study objective is to analyse the mediator role of emotional climate and political confidence in values and well-being relationship. 696 subjects were measure in values (Schwartz, 1992), social well-being (Keyes, 1998), emotional climate (de Rivera, 1992) and political trust (Inglehart, 1998) scales. Based on previous correlation analysis hierarchical regressions were carried out. It was introduced first values, second social climate and then political trust as social well-being dimensions predictors showing a properly model prediction. Self transcendence and openness to change values underlined dimensions had significant betas in four of the five social well-being dimensions (the former with coherence, actualization, contribution and integration and the latter with coherence, contribution, acceptance and integration) while conservation values had a negative effect in social acceptance. Emotional climate showed significant betas in all social well-being dimensions except contribution (positive emotional climate positively contributed in actualization, acceptance and social integration while negative does in coherence, actualization and social acceptance). Finally, political trust contributed in all dimensions but coherence.
