Resumen:
In this paper a computational method for designingcontrollers which attempt to place thecharacteristic polynomial of an uncertain systeminside some prescribed region is presented. Anobjective function consisting on two terms is proposed,penalizing both the distance to a givencontroller and the size of the uncertainty regiondeveloped to solve the robust assignment problem.The algorithm is based on semi-infinite programmingtheory, and the special structure of theproblem is exploited to get both simpler methodsand convergence proof. The way in whichthe uncertain parameters affect the plant coefficientsis realistic, since it includes multinomialdependence. An example of application is givento illustrate the approach.
