Multi?epoch photometry of galaxies is a key tool for the exploration and discovery of astrophysical events in the time domain. There are a number of methods to carry out these studies, with different performances that depend on the instrumental configurations, but none of them is taken as a standard. We apply several time series analysis tools and analyze their performances on transient searches, defining a figure of merit on the basis of false discovery rates. The searches were performed on light curves extracted from injected Kilonova events on top of simulated images of galaxies with different Sérsic profiles and several noise and image degradation sources. We implemented aperture photometry and Difference Image Photometry and evaluated the ability of the methods to retrieve the signal.
