The effective efficiency of PV cells and modules under natural conditions differs significantly from efficiency data that may be available a priori from their data sheets. Moreover, this efficiency is not constant. The output energy of photovoltaic modules of the type monocrystalline, polycrystalline and amorphous silicon, mounted at 30° to the horizontal plane was measured. In addition, the climatic data and radiation were measured. A function of generated energy using intelligence computational techniques for the different materials was modeled. The found functions show a common structure in the studied materials but differ on the equation constants of the model. These results allow to estimate the energy generated on the basis of data available for different types of cells and modules under real operating conditions. These results are applicable to WSNs that use photovoltaic sources.
