Resumen:
The nanostructured oxide systems, as nanowires, nanotubes or sphereswhose walls are constitutedby nanoparticles or layers, can be prepared by different chemical synthesis methods in our lab. Inthe last years, our group has dedicated a great effort to isolate single nanostructures and to performexperiments to explore the new capabilities of the oxides at the nanoscale. In particular, we focusthe attention in the interface problems at the nanograin boundary, designing different types ofnanostructures o composites where the interfaces define interesting and new physical properties.These isolated and single nanostructured objects could be used as elements in new electronicdevices as magnetic sensors, gas sensors, electroceramic capacitors for energy storage, switchesbased in multiferroicity, etc. Also our group perform studies on magnetic, transport and structuralproperties of new oxides, which present physics phenomena as charge order, magnetic frustration,multiferroicity or magnetoresistance.
