On the gasification of two Argentinean coal chars.

Kinetic measureeents of the gasification of two Argentinean coal chars were performed in a thermogravimetric balance by isothermal analysis at tenperatures from 1175 up to 1433 K and carbon dioxide concentrations between 50 and 70% v/v. Chemically cantrolled reaction rates were satisfactorily fitted by two non catalytic gas solid reaction models, which consider randon pore size distributions. Intrinsic kinetic parameters were calculated by applying gas-solid models and also by evaluating the reaction rate at a particular conversion level. For each char, the reaction behaviour over the entire range of reaction temperatures was characterized.
