Resumen:
The Giaever and Keese model allows the estimation of parameters with physical meaning based on electrical impedancespectra measurements in ECIS. The model assumes a symmetry consistent with an microelectrode of infinite size. Or in otherwords that a large number of individual cells sit on the microelectrode. This is a very good assumption for the standardmicroelectrode of 250 microns diameter. Depending on the cell size on this microelectrode sit hundreds of cells. However as the microelectrode size is reduced border effects appear. For the limit case of microelectrode diameters that are ofthe order of the cell size we show this border effects to be important.
