Resumen:
The article addresses the LPV control of a PolymerElectrolyte Membrane Fuel Cell (PEMFC) facing oxygenstoichiometry regulation. In order to optimize efficiency,PEMFCs require reliable control systems ensuring stability andperformance, as well as robustness to model uncertainties andexternal perturbations. On the other hand, PEMFC systemspresent highly nonlinear behaviors that demand nonlinearand/or adaptive control strategies to achieve high performancein the entire operating range. Here, a linear parameter varying(LPV) gain scheduled control is proposed. The control is basedon a piecewise affine LPV representation of the PEMFC, amodel that can be available in practice. The control strategyis applied to a couple of experimental practical situations in alaboratory fuel cell system, to evaluate not only the performancebut also the difficulties that can arise in real applications.
