Resumen:
The famous
XXth Century economist John Maynard Keynes did not studied economics (he took
only a brief course delivered by Alfred Marshall) but philosophy. Keynes
proposed a philosophical theory of probability, the so-called ?logical theory?,
in his Treatise on Probability ([1921]
1973).This theory assigns a preponderant role to intuition. However, intuition is not
only present in this part of Keynes? thought but in all his works. In
formulating his theory of probability, Keynes was influenced by George E.
Moore, his professor of ethics in Cambridge. His idea of intuition could also
have a connection with Franz Brentano?s thought. In this paper I will present
Keynes? notion of intuition.
