Resumen:
Drawing on the sociology of penality, sociology of law and sociology of policy transfers, this communication discusses how professional strategies, bureaucratic interests and domestic political forces combined to determine the differential elaboration and implementation of the core reforms attempted the within the criminal courts of post-authoritarian Argentina and Chile: the adoption of adversarial systems and on the reorganization of the powers of prosecutors. After discussing the different theoretical approaches I comparatively explore the origins of the reform, locating them in the common influence of foreign models orienting the criminal procedure reform in both countries and explain the different paths of implementation and consolidation of the reforms attempted.
