Resumen:
In this work, we have prepared a “quasi-model” catalyst, supporting γ-Fe2O3 NPs of 3 nm on SBA-15 of 11 nm pore diameter. This solid was activated following two different pre-treatments: with pure H2 and with H2:CO, in order to study the influence of the activation atmosphere on the activity and selectivity of the catalyst in the Fischer-Tropsch synthesis. The catalyst activated in pure H2 was 50 % more active than that activated in synthesis gas, and produced 40 % less of methane. These results were attributed to the different reduction velocities during the activation process.
