Resumen:
Treatment
of tannery effluent by membrane technology with nanofiltration (NF) was
investigated. The effects of operating and the cleaning procedures on membrane
performance were studied. The results showed that the permeate flux of NF was
higher at feed flow rate of 66 L/h than at that of 45 L/h due to lower
resistance of the fouling membrane during the operation. The best cleaning procedure
on membrane was found to be with hot citric acid, after which the recovery of
water permeability was 85% at 45 L/h and 96% at 66 L/h.
