Resumen:
In this work the emulsion polymerization of acrylic monomers in presence of casein was investigated. With the objective of producing acrylic-protein compatibilized nanoparticles, different initiator types, monomer/casein formulations, and the use of functionalized casein was studied. The emulsion polymerization of acrylic monomer in the presence of casein (unmodified and functionalized) was investigated with the goal of producing waterborne compatibilized nanoparticles. It is concluded that the use of peroxide initiators, acrylic based systems as well as acrylically modified casein, improved the compatibilization of the produced hybrid nanoparticles.
