Resumen:
LPIM is a Global Assimilation Ionospheric Model developed for more than 15 years at the Space Geodesy and Aeronomy (GESA) Lab of the Department of Astronomy and Geophysics of the La Plata National University. LPIM relies upon three major engines: global models for the variation of the F2 peak parameters with latitude, longitude and time; a model for the variation of the electron density with height (vertical profile); a near-real-time data assimilation algorithm based on a robust and adaptive Kalman filter. This presentation summarizes the main characteristics of these three engines and shows some results.
