This text approaches young people´s main trends in the Latin American educational and employment environments. Various tensions and problems are present today in the educational and employment fields. One of the most frequent debates is about the current inequalities regarding access and completion of secondary education and the way these factors influence when looking for a job. During the presentation, through a comparative approach, different statistical data will be shown to provide an insight on the current scenario of both issues and their effects on young people´s careers.
