TRATAMIENTO SECUNDARIO ALTERNATIVO DE EFLUENTES LIQUIDOS: LÍQUIDOS: ABATIMIENTO DE DISTINTOS CONTAMINANTES

This paper presents an alternative for secondary treatment of wastewater purification. For the evaluation of its efficiency, 10 parameters were selected and compared with results obtained by biological treatment carried out in existing treatment plant in San Juan, Argentina. The experimental work was conducted in a tubular reactor constituided by a fixed bed of gravel. The particle size varied from 12.7 to 25.4 mm . Seven were analyzed for each parameter. The removal efficiencies of each contaminants in this alternative treatment were compared to the efficiencies achieved in a conventional biological reactor. Considering the experimental results, it observed an acceptable reduction of the all parameters analyzed, except for lead. This parameter not reach the limits set by law, however, this standard is not achieved by conventional treatment. The phosphorus and phosphates removal is acceptable,also.
