Resumen:
We present a model of the auditory periphery for pitch computation. The model consist in a simulation of the cochlea and a noisy threshold detector as auditory fiber. This spike generator behaves similar to more common Poisson models, usually used in auditory models. Nevertheless it presents two parameters, threshold and noise intensity, which resemble the parameters used for auditory fiber classification, i.e. low or high threshold level and high or low spontaneous rate. The pitch values are extracted from first order inter-spike intervals histograms. We show how the fundamental frequency, if missing, emerges in some fibers of the population. We also show how the model can segregates the stimulus frequencies both in spatial and time domain.
