The acute upper lethal temperature (AULT) at different increase rates was evaluated as a useful tool for the design of cheaper and environmentally friendlier control strategies of the invasive bivalve Limnoperna fortunei. Survivorship of 6±2 mm and 20±2 mm mussels acclimated to 12, 23 and 28ºC and subjected to different heating rates (1ºC per 5, 15 and 30 min) was estimated in laboratory.
