Resumen:
UV photocatalytic technologies for air purification and elimination of indoor VOCs are a promising emerging technology. TiO2- photocatalytic oxidation of compounds in the gas phase offers several advantages compared to other treatments (such as the use of activated carbon and other adsorbents) because the photoreactions occur at measurable rates, room temperature and atmospheric pressure under near UV irradiation, attaining very low outlet concentration values2,3.The goal of this study is to identify key parameters and optimal conditions for the effective removal of a model hydrophobic air pollutant present at realistically low concentrations comparable to those encountered in buildings.
