Resumen:
In this work, the synthesis and characterization of mesoporous nanostructured materials of siliconand its carbon replica will be carried out using ecological silicon sources such as rice husk waste, tobe used in hydrogen adsorption as an alternative in the use of green hydrogen. To obtain thesenanostructured materials, a synthesis technique was developed with this new ecological and lowcostalternative. On the one hand, the siliceous materials MCM-41 and SBA-15 were obtained usingrice husk as silicon source. These materials were used as “templates” to carry out the synthesisusing the nanocasting technique of ordered mesoporous carbon materials (OMC), with sucrose ascarbon source. In this way, nanostructured mesoporous carbons of the CMK-3 type (RHA-CMK-3) andthe replica of MCM-41 (RHA-RMCM-41) were obtained with high surface areas (between 800 and1400 m2/g) and meso and microporosity. Both carbons have a good hydrogen adsorption rate, withRHA-CMK-3 being the one that stores the most hydrogen by weight (3.6% by weight at -196.15 ºC at10 bar).
