Resumen:
Conservation programs require accessible scientific evidence to succeed, yet a gap oftenhinders the translation of knowledge into action. To bridge this divide, we propose creatingindices that consolidate key data for a conservation target. Using Gonopterodendronsarmientoi, an endangered tree in the Gran Chaco region, as a case study, we have developed four indices. The first combines genetics, morphology, and paleoclimate data. The secondaddresses threats from deforestation and climate change. The third explores indigenousutilization. The fourth prioritizes crucial localities, consolidating all data. This comprehensiveapproach connects data with in-situ and ex-situ conservation actions. The adaptable, dynamicindices suit various needs and evolving data availability.
