Resumen:
Production of sustainable nanocomposites from totally renewable resources with extraordinary potential for different applications can be made possible using bacterial cellulose. Nanocomposites based on bacterial cellulose and biobased epoxy resin were prepared using a vacuum assisted method. In order to evaluate the compatibility between matrix and reinforcement, nanocomposites from no modified and acetylated cellulose were made. The effects of treatment on the chemical structure, morphology and transparency were studied by fourier transformed infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), electron microscopy (SEM) and UV-visible. Nanocomposites showed better mechanical properties with increasing acetylated cellulose content without significant loss of transparency.
