Resumen:
Connecting people, biodiversity, and landscapes with agroecology Agroecology has been defined as a set of situated socioecological practices, a political movement and a scientific discipline. As a science, Agroecology is based on local knowledge and on inter and transdisciplinary work that recognizes interdependencies among human and non-human natures. Agroecology is also a process-based agriculture that searches for agro-bio-diversification (i.e. biocultural diversification) of socioecosystemsin order to stabilize socioecological processes that (re)produce such biocultural diversity. In this context, understanding how socioecological interactions (re)producing and being (re)produced by Agroecology organizeacross territories is central to (re)produce agri-food landscapes that work for human and non-human natures. In this talk I will share results from recent projects focused on the development of agroecological horticulture and beekeeping in Argentina, focusing on agro-bio-diversification strategies that may improve agroecological expansion in territories highly affected by agribusiness.
