Y-chromosomal haplogroups åre defined by SNPs, whidi have a charactensticgeographical distribution depending on their place of origin and dispeision tiirough humanpopulations. Thus, the disdosure oftheir distribution pattems in populations makes it possible toreconstruct male migrations. However, within the Native American Q-M3 lineage, arried by thefirst settfers into South America, the currently avaUable data rcstricts the haplogroup resolutionand the determination of more spedfic migration routes wfthin the continentThe aim ofthis study was to identify novel variants to increase the resolution ofQ-tineages, withemphasis to the Q-M3 lineage.
