Resumen:
The study presented here focuses on the evaluation of gasoline properties using substitutefuels of the TRFE type (Toluene Reference Fuel with Ethanol). A parametric analysis is proposed th-rough computational simulation, establishing as the objective function the energy yield per unit volumeof the fuel. To carry out the analysis, a 0D/1D code is used with detailed chemistry tools, complemen-ted by computational fluid dynamics (CFD) to closely examine the spatial variations occurring in thecombustion chamber. During the course of the study, 16 different varieties of TRFE fuels are generated, altering the composition of the basic components of the TRFE, while maintaining a minimum octanerating for each mixture. The findings indicate that a higher content of aromatics in the fuel optimizes theenergy yield per unit volume, but this optimization is accompanied by an increase in pollutant emissions, such as nitric oxide (NO).
