Resumen:
Emotional regulation (ER), understood as the ability to influence one´s own andothers´ emotions, is crucial for social functioning. Schizophrenia (SZ) is a highlyprevalent disease, characterized by significant impairment of social skills. On the otherhand, childhood is a critical period of neurodevelopment, highly susceptible toenvironmental changes. Therefore, adverse experiences during childhood (ACEs)increase the risk of psychopathology in adulthood, possibly by impairing circuitsinvolved in ER and top-down processing. However, the relationship betweenfunctional brain connectivity and emotional dysregulation, as well as the impact ofACEs on the brain function of ER, remains unclear. This study aims to investigate brainconnectivity and its relationship with difficulties in ER and ACEs exposure in patientswith SZ.
