Resumen:
Alpha-synuclein (αS) aggregation is a hallmark of neurodegenerative diseases like Parkinson's. Doxycycline (DOX), a tetracycline (TC), has shown potential in inhibiting αS aggregation, but its antibiotic properties limit its therapeutic use. To address this, we synthetized a non-antibiotic TC derivative, DDOX, aimed to mitigate αS aggregation and improve neuroprotection. The aim of this work was to evaluate the potential neuroprotective effects of DDOX in different cell culture models.
