Resumen:
Plants respond not only to environmental changes experienced during their life cycles, but also to those of previous generations. This transgenerational plasticity influences early developmental traits and the expression of adaptive responses to fluctuating climates. Thus, understanding how parental environments affect progeny seed responses, and identifying the underlying molecular mechanisms, is key to inform potential trajectories of plants in natural and agricultural ecosystems, especially under the projected climate change.
