Resumen:
Most hematological studies of anurans have been concerned for blood cell counts. The erythrometria is a technique used for the distition of related species with different ploidy levels. Morphological differences between larval and adult red blood cell have been noted in numerous species of anurans. The present work evaluates differences in the size of the red blood cell and nuclei between juvenile and adult individuals of Rhinnella arenarum. We take photos of blood smears using a microscope (10 X) and measure length (L) and width (W) of 20 erythrocytes for each individual, using Image J software. Erythrocyte and nuclei area was calculated assuming an ellipsoid shape (L x W x /4). The mean of erythrocyte size was 226.7±1.7 µm2 and nuclei size was 26.6±0.26 µm2. Erythrocyte size of juvenile and adult individuals showed proportional patterns with LHC (Spearman rank: R=0.48; p
