Resumen:
The exposure to indoor particulate matter (PM) impairs redoxmetabolism and promotes inflammation, which aggravatesrespiratory diseases. Lung epithelial cells are suggested to play acentral role in this scenario, since they produce inflammatory andoxidative stress mediators following PM uptake. Here, we aim tostudy the pathways leading to redox metabolism alterations andNLRP3 inflammasome activation in A549 cells expose to indoor dust (ID) up to 24 h at 25 and 100 μg/mL. As a therapeuticapproach, we development nanomicelles to co-encapsulateibuprofen and curcumin to pre-treat cells. Composition and sizeanalysis of ID by SEM showed high content of aluminum and iron(8.3 and 5.4 % respectively) and particle size distributioncorresponding to fine and ultrafine PM. Viability was not affectedunder the experimental conditions. Intracellular redox status wasassessed by DCF intensity and SOD activity, which were increasedafter exposure to 100 μg/mL ID (p
