Studying shower to shower fluctuations with simulations

The study of shower to shower fluctuationsis hampered by the thinning algorithm,which introduces artificial fluctuations and distortsthe probability distribution. We consider the effectof the thinning in the calculation of the shower toshower fluctuation for the electromagnetic and themuonic component. We also report a complete study of the parameters that are affected by the thinningand semi-analytical estimations of this fluctuation.
